Please join the Friends of the MCEAS
The McNeil Center is the focal point for an extraordinary community of interdisciplinary scholars at all levels in the profession. The bulk of the Center’s resources are devoted to support for graduate students and others early in their careers, but through its conferences and publications, it seeks to enrich the entire field. The Center is fortunate to rest on a solid core of financial support from the late Robert L. McNeil, Jr., the Barra Foundation, the University of Pennsylvania, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and many other generous institutions—not least the members of the McNeil Center Consortium. But the annual support of individual donors is also absolutely vital to the Center’s programs, and many members of our community find membership in the Friends of the MCEAS to be an excellent way expressing their commitment to the Center and its mission. Friends contributions are particularly crucial in bridging the budgetary gap for conferences and publications, and they are the sole source of support for Friends of the MCEAS Dissertation Fellowships, awarded for projects dealing with Philadelphia and the Mid-Atlantic region.
So please consider joining the Friends of the MCEAS today. Membership categories and benefits, suitable to a variety of aspirations for life in “the Best Poor Man’s Country,” are as follows:
